LSU vs. Arkansas

After a tremendous season, the LSU Tigers played the University of Arkansas for a final face-off. The game took place at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge over Thanksgiving weekend. Thousands of fans came out in their purple and gold to support their tigers for the last home game of the season. The fourth quarter became critical as the Tigers were outplayed and favored by more than three touchdowns over the hogs. However, the Tigers prevailed 31-27 for another SEC victory. It was a bittersweet win for most of the team that day, as the seniors gathered during the LSU Fight Song to reminisce on the wonderful years they've had playing in Death Valley. With another impressive season underway, Coach Les Miles and the LSU Tigers will continue to roar as they gear up for the 2014 OutBack Bowl versus University of Iowa. Geaux Tigers!
Hoops Season Heating Up

Both men's and women's basketball teams are off to a strong start this season. The Tigers' fast paced style of play on both ends of the floor, make for an exciting game to watch. The men's team coached by Johnny Jones, has displayed its ability to compete with some of the top programs in the country including UMass, Memphis and Butler. The 13th-ranked Lady Tigers, coached by Nikki Caldwell,  who advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 last season, have won seven of their first eight games. LSU basketball tickets can purchased in advance through the LSU Athletics Ticket Office online on www.lsutix.net, in person at the Athletic Administration Building, or by calling 225.578.2184 or 800.960.8587. Off Campus Housing

Many college students at some point decide to move off campus. Not only to live with friends, but to have more space, more amenities, and more privacy. Baton Rouge has some of the nicest off campus apartments and homes to offer all LSU students. All are in great proximity to campus, Tigerland, and Tiger stadium. Also, most off campus residents have the ability to ride the bus to school instead of having to drive. Each place has a variety of prices and options depending on size, layout, and number of bedrooms you are looking for. Not to mention, the amazing pools and workout facilities that some include. Southgate Towers, Campus Crossings, Woodlands, and The Cottages are some of the popular places LSU students live at. LSU's Tigerland

LSU is quite known for it's incredible nightlife int he oh-so-famous Tigerland. Located right off Nicholson Drive, Tigerland includes about eight bars that are open nightly until 2am. Most of them are ages 18 & up (besides Fred's, JL's, and Bogies) and require a five to ten dollar cover fee. Each bar has daily drink specials as well as hours of no cover. Reggie's and Fred's are LSU's nightlife staples, having been around for years. The other great bars in Tigerland are JLs, Reggie's, Mikes, The House, Bogies, and Tops. Each place is decked out with LSU memorabilia and has such a unique ora to them. Tigerland is one of the main attractions among LSU students. Each bar has a DJ playing the hottest music, great drinks, and great people who are looking to have some fun!

Fun, Fit, and Fabulous!

With all the stress from school and work, it is so important for students to stay healthy with exercise and diet. LSU and the surrounding Baton Rouge area offer many places that are great to go and get a workout in. Whether its cardio, yoga, dance or pilates, its crucial to maintaing a healthy lifestyle. LSU has a wonderful rec. center that includes a variety of card and weight training machines as well as basketball courts, tennis courts, swimming pools, and a rock wall. There are also plenty of exercise classes offered at the rec. a few times a week. However, if you feel like getting outdoors and enjoying the gorgeous weather, there are the LSU lakes that are wonderful for jogging. Also, located off campus are plenty of places that offer amazing workout classes. Tread BR, Pure Barre, and Bootcamp: Weight Loss 101 are three of my favorites. They all offer many different exercise classes, that vary in intensity levels. Each class will have you sweating, burning calories, and feeling great. So if your up for the challenge and want a great workout, be sure to check out these places!
